Daily Yinz – Pacing – Boyfriends (w/ Career Woman)

Pittsburgh-to-Cali transplant Pacing released a single with Career Woman’s Melody Caudill on Lauren Records.

“Me and my friends, we don’t like men / But we got boyfriends,” is an objectively great chorus. The wry observation, delivered in harmony alongside acoustic strums, handclaps, and mischievous giggles, encapsulates the whispered-secret feeling of a song that balances a carefree intimacy with a bittersweet sense of loss. Pacing’s Katie McTigue and Career Woman’s Caudill sing about the lazy days that linger in the mind, cocooned in a rosy fog: “We went to the movies / Cause we ran out of things to say,” “We went to the gas station to steal coffee creamers,” “I used to sneak in through your window by the back door,” “We promised that we would live together in a tree.” Snippets from those close friendships that only exist when you’re younger than you are now, the ones that grow thinner with time and age and distance and new family, but keep hold somewhere essential inside yourself.
