Today’s CD Deep Dive Fest picks are Alice In Chains’s Dirt, a chilling portrait of a tortured soul, The Beatles’s Please Please Me, where the boys harmonize a lot and shamelessly copy blues artists, Sleater-Kinney’s The Woods, a screamingly energetic punk epic, and Red Crayola’s The Parable of Arable Land, an experimental bonanza filled with “free-form freakouts.”

Those (including me) who happened to miss out on “May The Saints Go March In Sin,” a May showcase of Pittsburgh-based rock music held at @thunderbirdmusichall, are in luck, because @michitapes’s Eric Stevens captured the whole thing on video, and then treated the footage to some tasty technical effects. Live today at the link in bio is an entire set from Silver Car Crash, who balance noisy onslaughts with brooding guitar atmospherics.
