Luxury Machine are a duo from Pittsburgh who use drums and dirty keys to create their bluesy tunes.
The band’s June single, “No Show,” functions like a mix of The Black Keys‘s blues revival sound and One Day As A Lion‘s distorted Fender Rhodes jams. Drums oontz oontz and gritty keyboards seesaw rhythmically while vocalist Benjamin Douglas sings about what sounds like a wild night out on the town. Clean piano adds a classical blues touch to the chorus, and a spoken-word breakdown provides some musical variation to the song’s stripped-down stomp. For those in need of a rollicking good time this weekend, come see Luxury Machine at Howard’s Pub on Friday night as part of the Millvale Music Festival.
