Pittsburgh rapper Hardo, assisted by producer STONEY, has crafted a summery ode to the finer things in life.
Hardo’s three-step recipe for contentment is easy to remember (especially when delivered in the form of a catchy hook):
- Ball
- Chill
- Stay away from police
On “Ball & Chill,” the rapper sticks to this game plan in spite of jealous rivals, neighbors cursing him in the street, and a trap house that may or may not be haunted. His shoulder-brushing lyrics are complemented by a mellow, trilling guitar loop and a singsong flow; the individual aspects of the song combine to make Hardo’s good cheer contagious. “Ball & Chill” is a carefree summer track if I’ve ever heard one.
