Pittsburgh’s Spencer Geer and Zach Bronder are Slow Bluff, an acoustic duo whose stripped-down sound disguises intricate arrangements.
Slow Bluff’s first release, “Fool’s Gold,” is chock full of BWHE (Big Wild Horses Energy), with plenty of blues sway, double-stop guitar flourishes, and lyrical yearnin’ to go around. The Bluff boys, busting out some truly tricky harmonies, mourn, “See myyyyy baby walkin’ away,” so passionately that Mick Jagger is probably sticking his tongue out in approval somewhere. “Fool’s Gold” is a strong showcase of vocal chops and folksy guitar acrobatics; looking forward to more from Slow Bluff.
Normally I’d say, “Check out more from Slow Bluff,” but this is the only track of theirs I’ve been able to find, so stay tuned, I guess!
